Managing stress helps in the fight against cancer

The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura will offer a free educational workshop called “Success Over Stress” presented by Ed Rockey, PhD, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mon., Feb. 15 at 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.

Information recently published by Yale researchers confirms that stress contributes to cancer by helping the tumor growth process. Patients already dealing with a cancer diagnosis and treatment are subject to much more than “everyday” stress.

The seminar offers an eclectic approach to managing stress through discussion, hands-on work, take-home activities and lifestyle suggestions.

Rockey is a two-time cancer survivor and professor of applied behavioral science at Pepperdine University in Westlake Village.

To RSVP, call (805) 379-4777. For more information, go to www.TwcVv.org.
