The California Lutheran University Faculty Chamber Ensemble will perform Messiaen’s masterpiece “Quartet for the End of Time” at 2 p.m. Sun., Jan. 31, in Samuelson Chapel on Campus Drive, Thousand Oaks.

Clarinetist Daniel Geeting, violinist Melissa Phelps, cellist Joyce Geeting and pianist Eric Kinsley will play the piece, which was composed in the winter of 1941 in a German prison camp.  

Senior music students Daniel Liles and Katharine Wade will read notes by Messiaen about the piece.
