Judge resigns from superior court
Judge William Brennan Lynch, who was appointed to the Ventura Superior Court bench by the governor in December 2009, has elected to resign from office for personal reasons and return to his previous position with Santa Barbara Superior Court.
Before his appointment, Lynch worked as a research attorney for the Santa Barbara County Superior Court. Prior to that, he was a solo practitioner from 2005 to 2009.
He worked for Archbald and Spray as an associate from 1981 to 1985 and senior associate then partner from 1988 to 2005. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1985 to 1988.
Lynch earned a juris doctorate degree from Loyola Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University.
He had filled the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Ken Riley in January 2009.
The resignation leaves the court with two vacant judicial positions.
