A hospice volunteer training course will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on eight Tuesdays starting Jan. 26 at Livingston’s Ventura office, 1996 Eastman Ave., Ste. 101, Ventura.

Topics include learning new communication skills, exploring issues of grief and loss, sharing views of spirituality and understanding concepts of symptom management and end-of-life care. Participants will become acquainted with the hospice team, medical and social workers, hospice chaplains, home health aides and other hospice volunteers.

Hospice volunteers provide relief to caregivers, visit with patients and run errands for patients, among other duties.
