YMCA gets grant

The Conejo Valley YMCA has received a $5,000 grant from the JCPenney Afterschool Fund.

The award will provide financial assistance to new and previously enrolled students who cannot afford to participate in the YMCA’s after-school programs.

The Conejo Valley YMCA provides before- and after-school child care at Peach Hill and Mountain Meadows elementary schools in Moorpark and at Meadows Arts and Technology Elementary School in Thousand Oaks. Students at Arroyo West Elementary and Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School can also attend the programs.

The Conejo Valley YMCA sites serve more than 100 children.

For more information about YMCA child care programs, call the Southeast Ventura County YMCA at (805) 497-3081 or visit www.sevymca.org.
