Two more take posts on Discovery Center’s board of directors
Holly Cole
The Discovery Center for Science and Technology in Thousand Oaks has added two new members to its board of directors, Holly Cole and Stan Mantooth. Members serve three-year terms.
Cole is the director of government and external affairs for Verizon, which has purchased a STARLAB portable planetarium for the center. STARLAB is taken to schools and community events for astronomy education programs.
Mantooth, Ventura County superintendent of schools, has more than 30 years of administrative experience in the field of education.
Current board members John Bradley and Carrie Glicksteen accepted the positions of chair and president of the board.
Outgoing president Wayne Davey will continue to serve on the board.
The board also approved the election of the following officers to serve as the executive committee of the Discovery Center board: chair, John Bradley; president, Carrie Glicksteen; vice president of finance, Nathen Fox; secretary, Mary Jane Seebach; and vice presidents Ken Bauer, Holly Cole, Cathy Fudurich, Terry Murphy, Vicki Murphy and Linda Organ.
