Casa Conejo Municipal Advisory Council to meet

The first meeting of the new year for the Casa Conejo Municipal Advisory Council for residents of unincorporated Newbury Park will be at 6 p.m. Wed., Jan. 20 at Walnut Elementary School, 581 Dena Drive, Newbury Park.

Topics for the meeting will include information on the Neighborhood Watch program for Casa Conejo, a progress report on the training course for the three dozen residents who have enrolled in the Community Emergency Response Team for unincorporated Newbury Park, the election of a council chair and vice chair, information on reducing trash bills and followup on numerous public works issues in Casa Conejo.

The finalized agenda will be available 72 hours in advance of the meeting and can be accessed at www.ventura.org.

The council meetings provide a forum for residents of Casa Conejo to discuss issues of land use, neighborhood beautification, roadways and other infrastructure, and make recommendations to the board of supervisors.

Casa Conejo is bounded by Borchard Road, Old Conejo Road and the 101 Freeway in the unincorporated area of Newbury Park and has a population of approximately 3,000 residents and 1,000 homes.
