Let’s just get along with all of the holiday greetings
Every year as the season of merriment begins, the same tired issue of political correctness about the proper greetings and displays rears its ugly head.
As a nonbeliever to any particluar faith, let me say how ridiculous it all is, and I’m embarrassed for the faithless that they continue to make a big deal out of nativity sets and the like, when these energies could be much better spent.
If someone tells me “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Hanukkah,” I smile and repeat it back.
While I don’t share the same idea of the reason for the season, I respect theirs and appreciate the fact they’re just trying to spread some cheer and wish me well.
Our country is for freedom of expression; how about expressing tolerance?
