The Ventura County Rose Society and the Gold Coast Heritage Rose Group will sponsor the eighth annual pruning demonstration of old garden roses by Gregg Lowery at 9 a.m. Sat., Jan. 9 at the Stagecoach Inn Museum rose garden, 52 Ventu Park Road, Newbury Park.

The event is free.

Lowery is the owner and operator of Vintage Gardens, a Northern California old garden roses nursery.

Lowery practices minimal pruning and works with nature as opposed to against it.
