CIF recognizes top local talent in water polo, volleyball

Area athletes were selected to All-CIF Southern Section teams in girls’ volleyball and boys’ water polo.

Madeline Rumer, a senior middle blocker for La Reina’s volleyball team, earned a first-team spot on the Division 2 squad, as selected by the Girls’ Volleyball Coaches’ Selection Committee.

Teammate Katherine Workman made the second team, along with Oak Park’s Rachel Gam and Kim Koros of Oaks Christian.

Viewpoint’s Jordan Larsen and Blaire Berka were honored on the first and second teams, respectively, in Division 4.

P.J. Iannone and James Altmann of Agoura made the AllCIF Southern Section boys’ water polo first team in Division 4.

Christian Brock of Thousand Oaks and Royal’s Cody Moore were also honored on the first team. The selections were made by the Southern California Water Polo Coaches’ Association.

Local Division 4 second-team water polo players are Dylan Ackerman (Thousand Oaks), Thomas de Lyon (Newbury Park), Zach Graper (Royal), Danny McClintick (Agoura) and Jett Reich (Oaks Christian).

Third-team players are Adam Abdulhamid (Agoura), Alec Follmer (Oaks Christian), Tanner Jauch (Royal), Thor English (Royal), Colin Wheatley (Thousand Oaks) and Mitch Levin (Newbury Park).
