People who deny global warming have an agenda
Regarding “Global warming is based on politics and bogus science,” I really don’t understand why there’s such resistance to scientific facts. Wait a minute, I take that back. I do understand.
It’s about money.
It’s usually about the money. Faced with having to modify existing behavior that spews pollutants into the atmosphere at an alarming rate, corporatists are arming for full battle over this issue.
There are other problems with Mr. Anderson’s letter. The “article” he cites was actually an editorial and, by its own admission, Investor’s Business Daily (the name alone suggests it’s not unbiased) “falsely claimed that Al Gore ‘still claims’ hurricanes are increasing . . . as a result of global warming . . .”
Further, the author of that Florida State University “study,” Ryan Maue, stated, “. . . under global warming scenarios, hurricane intensity is expected to increase . . . but questions remain.”
Many papers have suggested that these changes are already occurring due to warming seasurface temperatures.
Apparently, IBD made other errors they corrected.
Oh, John: If you look at the data from that Florida study you’ll note that the decline is only for F3-F5 hurricanes. You have to look at all hurricanes.
But this is stupid. Let’s use common sense. Scientific fact: Carbon dioxide is bad for the planet and bad for humans. We’ve known this for over 100 years.
Take a look at satellite imagery for the Helheim Glacier and other glaciers in Antarctica and Peru and you’ll see for yourself how they’ve receded.
Look at the evidence of deforestation and coastline recession on the East Coast. I’ve seen for myself the coral bleaching effects of sea warming in the Great Barrier Reef.
Never mind that NASA, NOAA, many of our major universities, a Bush science adviser (who was told to keep quiet) and others the world over who find this to be a potential cataclysmic event. You and others like you go ahead and vote against your selfinterest; just hang in there with the British.
I throw my lot in with Sherry Jensen and the charlatans.
