Needlework bound for orphanage


KIDS NEED WARMTH—Debbie Charton, left, owner of Pearl’s Knitting Parlor, is participating in  a  mission  with  the  Christian Church of Thousand Oaks.  In January,  they’re going to Kenya,  and  one  stop  will  be  at  an  orphanage  where  babies  and  toddlers  have  been abandoned because  they  have  AIDS.  Charton  hopes  to  collect  donations  of  knitted  or crocheted sweaters, booties or blankets by Jan. 1. Completed items or squares can be dropped off at the parlor, 2993 E.
