Janss and Chabad to host Hanukkah event

Janss Marketplace and the Thousand Oaks Chabad Jewish Center will host a Hanukkah Family Festival open to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. Mon., Dec. 14 at the shopping center, Hillcrest Drive at Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

The traditional Jewish holiday event will feature the lighting of an 18-foot menorah (ninebranched candelabrum) at 6 p.m. The menorah will remain at the marketplace through the holiday celebration.

The event will have live music, hot latkes (potato pancakes), face painting, children’s craft activity, family-friendly entertainment, a comedy balloon show and a juggling and fire show, all free and in the courtyard near the Mann Theatre.
