It’s official: He’s famous because of his Acorn letters
Shopping for a new toilet kit in The Oaks mall we finally found our kit at Penney’s. The salesman informed us (my wife and I) that toilet kits are now referred to as “ditty bags.”
My wife and I were most impressed with the service. When we informed a clerk at customer service that we were searching for a toilet kit, she informed us that the kits might be on sale in the men’s department on the floor below. My wife asked the clerk to phone the men’s department to inquire if they had the kit we were seeking. The clerk complied. Becoming impatient for a reply, the clerk volunteered to make the trip downstairs. She returned with the good news. They had the kit.
When the clerk in the men’s department recognized my name on the check “as the letter writer to the Acorn ” the sale was complete!
We were even escorted to the escalator. This indeed is service. Thanksgiving and Christmas and Hanukkah are in the air.
