Woman assaulted in area where indecent exposures were reported

On Nov. 6 at about 8:25 p.m., a woman was jogging in the area of Northwood Place and Mabrey Court in Thousand Oaks. An unknown man pushed her from behind, causing her to fall into a bushy area.
The victim, believing she was going to be sexually assaulted, kicked the man, got up and ran away. The victim didn’t see the direction in which the subject fled nor did she immediately report the incident.
More than 20 reported indecent exposures have taken place in this area. The flasher primarily targets female joggers and walkers during daytime hours. He conceals himself behind bushes or trees before exposing himself.
The last reported incident was on July 24, 2008.
The indecent exposure subject is still outstanding. He’s described as 30 to 35 years old, white, short dark hair, 6-foot to 6-foot-2-inches tall, 180 pounds, slender build and wearing dark clothing with hoodie and sunglasses.
The police request that residents use extreme caution and be aware of their surroundings while in the area.
