Students learn importance of personal finance
Arkady Milgram, a financial strategist and special care planner with Walker Financial Partners in Westlake Village, recently taught a series of saving and investing seminars for high school seniors as part of the Junior Achievement of Southern California’s financial literacy program called “Money & Me.”
Some 250 students from five area high schools participated in the one-day event at Moorpark College.
The program was created by Junior Achievement of Southern California and the Conejo Area Coordinating Team to help young people understand and take charge of their finances early in life.
Research shows that the average college student graduates with $27,600 in debt, including up to $5,000 in credit card debt.
Milgram’s conference featured sessions on credit, budgeting, and investment and savings.
