The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura will host a free workshop, “Frankly Speaking About Colorectal Cancer,” for people affected by colorectal cancer, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Sat., Dec. 19 at the Jennifer Diamond Cancer Foundation, 9410 Owensmouth Ave., Chatsworth.

Heinz-Josef Lenz, MD, will explore colorectal cancer treatment, side-effect management and psychosocial aspects of the illness.

Lenz is professor of medicine and preventive medicine in the division of medical oncology at Keck School of Medicine at USC. He is co-director of both the Colorectal Center and the GI Oncology Program at USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles.

The workshop is free. Advance registration is preferred, but walk-in attendees are welcome.
