Memory screening to be offered by Senior Concerns

Senior Concerns will present Memory Screening Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., Nov. 14 at 401 Hodencamp Road, Thousand Oaks.

Memory screenings and workshops on brain and memory health will be conducted free of charge. Screenings must be scheduled in advance by calling (805) 497-0189. Diagnoses will not be given, but screenings may indicate if a more complete medical examination is necessary.

Workshops and presentations include “Understanding Dementia and Memory Loss and the Normal Aging Brain,” with Dr. Lisa Hayden, a clinical research psychologist with the Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System.

Participants can also learn about Senior Concerns’ new “Brain Fitness Program,” which features the Dakim System for cross-training cognitive regions of the brain.
