Church presents ‘The Laramie Project’
The play is a dramatic look at the killing of 21-year-old Matthew Shepard, an openly gay student at the University of Wyoming, who was kidnapped, tied to a fence, beaten and left to die in the town of Laramie. The drama will be presented a few weeks after the 11th anniversary of Shepard’s death. The play was developed by Moisés Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project in Colorado, who visited Laramie after Shepard’s death and during the trial of his assailants. The actors conducted more than 200 interviews with townspeople. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling (805) 3749818 or at the door if seats are still available. The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. For more information, go to www.ConejoUU.org. Faith RSS feed |
