New West Symphony to perform ‘Eroica’

Violinist Yi-Jia Susanne Hou will make her New West Symphony debut in the second Masterpiece Series concert of the symphony’s 15th anniversary season.
The program will be presented at 8 p.m. Sat., Nov. 14 at the Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.
The performance will include Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major, Opus 55, “Eroica”; the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra by Alexander Brott; and Camille Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso in A Minor, Opus 28.
Hou is the first violinist to win three gold medals with unanimous decisions at international violin competitions in France, Italy and Spain. She has collaborated with several wellknown artists, including Pinchas Zukerman, Ralph Kirschbaum and Cho Liang-Lin.
