Pierce names new manager

Tammy Eacker Tamara Eacker has been named the new general manager of Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, Mortuary and Crematory in Westlake Village.

Eacker has 20 years of experience with Dignity Memorial. Pierce Brothers is part of the Dignity Memorial network of more than 1,600 providers across North America.

Eacker was instrumental in bringing The Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall, a three-quarter-scale traveling replica of the veterans memorial in Washington, D.C., to the park this year.

Eacker has also worked as quality assurance manager for the Los Angeles Market Support Center.

She began her career as the mortuary secretary at Praiswater Van Nuys and worked increasingly senior positions, including secretary of Pierce Brothers Valhalla, manager of Pierce Brothers Chapel of the Pines Crematory/Columbarium and general manager of Live Oak Memorial Park and Mortuary.

Eacker replaces Terrence Shotkowski, who assumed a new position with Dignity Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Eacker earned an associate degree in accounting at Palomar Junior College in San Marcos, Calif. She is a licensed funeral director, crematory manager, cemetery manager and notary public.
