On behalf of The Orphan Foundation, I’d like to thank our community for their generous donations of thousands of used books, CDs and DVDs. We were able to offer those items for free at the Thousand Oaks Rotary Club’s annual street fair on Oct. 18 and, in return, hundreds of people made donations that will enable us to give financial assistance to families working to complete overseas adoptions.

I’d also like to thank Sean Olgin of Flowers For . . . for allowing us to use his shop as a drop-off point and Trader Joe’s for donating shopping bags. And, of course, thanks to all of you who stopped by our booth and supported our cause.

Finally, I’d like to thank the Acorn Newspapers for its coverage of our organization. As a result of your articles, we were able to attract numerous donations and, from the response at the street fair, we know we will be just as successful in our future book fairs. Robin Martino Agoura Hills
