Thousand Oaks residents will host Alex’s lemonade stand from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays in October and November at the AYSO Region 9 soccer fields, 23 Freeway and Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. Funds support research into childhood cancer.

The Lemon Lounge at the soccer fields will offer games, face painting, crafts and lemonade. The group hopes to raise $1,000.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). At the age of 4, Alex started a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for children with cancer.

To date, the foundation, a nonprofit charity, has raised more than $25 million.
