Founders Day Concert at CLU
California Lutheran University will present a Founders Day concert at 8 p.m. Fri., Oct. 23 in Samuelson Chapel at the university, 60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.
The University Symphony will perform an all-Beethoven concert, including “The Choral Fantasy” with the CLU choir.
CLU music professor Elmer Ramsay will be honored at the concert. He will receive an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters in recognition of nearly 30 years of service to the university and more than 50 years of devotion to the arts in Southern California.
Ramsay, 79, is a composer, conductor, musician and educator. He formed the Conejo Symphony Orchestra and the Conejo Pops Orchestra and co-founded the Oakleaf Music Festival.
