Water conservation surveys available
City of Thousand Oaks water customers may request free water surveys. The service is part of the city’s public outreach effort promoting water conservation.
The city’s building division has created a program that assesses water use and provides residents and business owners with water conserving tips for their specific residence or business.
Essential parts of the program include evaluation of water fixtures, appliances and watering patterns; guidance for leak detection and adjustment of sprinkler controllers, and information and tips on using water more wisely.
Surveys may last from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the property or business.
The city has three water purveyors: two private, California American Water Company and California Water Service Company, and one public, the city of Thousand Oaks.
