Orphan Foundation collects books

The Orphan Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating the financial barriers to adoption, is collecting gently used books, CDs, and DVDs for its fundraiser at the Thousand Oaks Rotary Club’s annual street fair on Sun., Oct. 18.

Funds raised from the “Bookin’ It For Our Kids!” book sale will be used to help families through the adoption process. The foundation’s booth will be near El Torito restaurant, adjacent to the Janss Marketplace.

Items can be dropped off at Flowers For . . ., a flower and gift shop at 636 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. The shop is offering a free rose to anyone bringing in at least five items. Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
