EARTHS Magnet will host a meeting tonight

EARTHS (Environmental Academy for Research Technology and Earth Sciences) Magnet School is hosting a session on school cost reduction through conservation and energy efficiency tonight in the second of a monthly series focusing on making the community greener.

The Newbury Park school is presenting EARTHS After Dark, a set of free monthly evening classes, which debuted last month with a session on renewables and energy efficiency.

The discussion tonight will include an explanation of Conejo Valley Unified School District’s conservation program and presentations from various school sites outlining green projects at local campuses.

The talk begins at 7 p.m. at EARTHS, formerly Manzanita Elementary. It’s at 2626 Michael Drive in Newbury Park.

Future EARTHS After Dark sessions are scheduled for the third Thursday of each month through May.

Attendees are encouraged to make a reservation via the Internet at earthsafterdark@yahoo.com.
