Life-changing choices are being made by some of the finest student-athletes in the Conejo Valley.

At Westlake, standout baseball infielder Christian Yelich made a verbal commitment to the University of Miami following a recent visit to the campus.

Tim Wise, an outfielder/first baseman at WHS, has decided to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he’ll be joined by Newbury Park standout Jordan Brower.

In other baseball news, Agoura pitcher Zach Mercer has committed to UC Santa Barbara, while Thousand Oaks outfielder Avondre Bollar has opted for San Diego State, where he’ll play for Tony Gwynn, a member of the Hall of Fame.
