The Westlake High School Chamber Orchestra, directed by Elizabeth Blake, will perform Sergei Prokofiev’s classic composition “Peter and the Wolf” at 2:30 p.m. Sun., Oct. 18. The concert will be free to the public.

Due to construction at Westlake High School, the concert will be at the Thousand Oaks High School Performing Arts Center, 2323 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

The composition is a children’s story about a boy and his animal friends and recounts their adventures one day in the woods.

Each character has its own instrument and musical theme. Peter is represented by the strings, while other characters, including the wolf and the hunters, are represented by the wind and percussion instruments.
