In conjunction with United Parents, the Conejo Valley Friendship Circle, a local nonprofit organization that provides support programs for children with special needs and their families, will host a monthly support group for the parents of these children.

The first meeting will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tues., Oct. 13 at the Chabad of Westlake Village, 2525 Townsgate Road, Ste. H. The group will meet on the second Tuesday of the month. There is no charge.

The forum will provide the opportunity for families to share, suggest, educate and help each other based on their own experiences and knowledge.

Each meeting will feature a speaker who will educate families in such topics as IEPs, medications, parent burnout, surviving adolescence and how to talk to their kids.
