ALREADY IN THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT—Members of the Westlake Village Junior Women’s Club will sell their traditional homemade goodies. The Westlake Village Junior Women’s Club’s 28th annual Gingerbread Boutique-Autumn Cheer has added a new event this year. “Sip, Shop, Socialize” is a cocktail and VIP shopping event from 5 to 9 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 22 at St. Maximillian Kolbe Catho

ic Church, 5801 N. Kanan Road, Westlake Village.

Guests may partake of light appetizers from Merlin’s Kitchen and two complimentary cocktails (nonalcoholic drinks will be available) while browsing the offerings of more than 40 highquality vendors, including home decor, jewelry, clothing and gift items.

The evening also includes vendor raffles, an opportunity to buy tickets to Thursday’s raffle for tea for six at the Four Seasons in Westlake and a speaker from The Rainbow Connection, one of the primary recipients of funds raised from the event.

The $25 tickets are limited and available by pre-sale. For more information or ticket purchase, call Lesley at (818) 309-6067 or Jennifer at (805) 390-6020.

General shopping, for a $5 suggested donation, will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fri., Oct. 23. Refreshments and raffle tickets for tea at the Four Seasons will be available for purchase.

Following tradition, the Westlake Village Junior Women’s Club will have its homemade baked goods for sale. Along with the usual pumpkin pie bars and chocolate chip cookies will be new items for sale, including red velvet cupcakes and a popcorn mix. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the baked goods sales goes to the charities the juniors help support.

The highlighted charity is Tri Counties Regional Center’s Rain

bow Connection Family Resource Center, serving individuals and families who face the challenge of having special healthcare needs. Rainbow serves people from birth through adult

hood by providing information, resources, support and training, and is staffed by parents who all have children with special healthcare needs.

The club is in its 41st year of fundraising and service in the Conejo Valley. So far this year, the club has disbursed more than $41,000 to local charities such as FOOD Share, The Wellness Community, Senior Concerns, Hospice of the Conejo, Many Mansions and Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship.
