Man arrested
At 1:29 p.m. Sept. 29, deputies responded to a call of a robbery at the Carl’s Jr. restaurant in the 1300 block of Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks.
Deputies learned that a man had displayed a handwritten note demanding money. The manager asked another employee to call 911 while she delayed the subject. A short while later, the subject departed without any cash.
During a search, Michael Finch was seen leaving the area. Finch was identified as the subject. He was arrested by officers at about 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 30. The clothing that Finch wore during the alleged attempted robbery was recovered.
According to deputies, Finch is a registered sex offender from Florida. He is required to register with law enforcement. During the investigation it was discovered that he was not registered.
Finch was booked into the East County Jail and charged with attempted robbery and failing to register as a sex offender. He’s being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
