The Alliance for the Arts recently received a grant of $50,000 from Southern California Edison. The grant was presented at a Thousand Oaks City Council meeting by regional manager Rudy Gonzales.

The alliance is the official nonprofit fundraising arm of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.

Funds raised by the organization support performing arts productions, including theater, dance and children’s programs. In addition, funds are raised to underwrite theater operations and maintenance, and to provide bus transportation

nd tickets for underprivileged chil

ren who otherwise would not have he opportunity to attend live perormances.

The alliance also works with elementary school principals and field trip planners to provide educational opportunities for children using the arts to teach complex subject matter.
