Celebrate Sukkot, Simchat Torah

Chabad of the Conejo will travel through the community with a Sukkah Mobile, a booth mounted on a flatbed truck, in honor of the holiday of Sukkot on Tues., Wed. and Thurs., Oct. 6 through 8.

The truck will visit shopping centers and senior homes to offer all Jews the opportunity to come inside the booth and make a blessing on the lulav (palm branch) and etrog (citron).

The holiday of Simchat Torah will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Sat., Oct. 10 at these Chabad centers: 30345 Canwood St., Agoura Hills; 2524 Townsgate Road, Westlake Village; 2060 Avenida de Los Arboles, Ste. 1, Thousand Oaks; 3871 Old Topanga Canyon, Calabasas.

The event will include dancing with the Torah scrolls and flags for all children.

The last portion of the Torah (five books of Moses) will be read at 10 a.m. Sun., Oct. 11 at all Chabad centers.
