Vintage trains roll in Fillmore

The Fillmore & Western railroad provides a variety of vintage train rides for all ages. All trips depart from the station in Fillmore’s Central Park.

•Saturdays and Sundays in October the “PumpkinLiner” travels to a private pumpkin patch, “Ichabog,” for a two-hour stop with Jolly Jumps, a carousel, arts and craft vendors, garden art, koi ponds, pottery, fountains, a corn maze and hayrides. Families may pick a pumpkin to take home. Barbecue tri-tip sandwiches, roasted corn on the cob and other food will be available. Departures are 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Adults are $17, youth 4 to 12 are $10, children 2 to 3 are $8 and infants under 2 ride free on lap. Cab rides are available for $50 each direction.

•Oct. 9, 16, 18, 23, 25 and 30 is the Search For the Headless Horseman Dinner Train. Barbecue tri-tip and chicken dinner with stop at private pumpkin patch. Guests may dress in costume. Adults are $45, youth 4 to 12 years are $30, children 2 to 3 years are $22, children under 2 are free on lap.

•Oct. 3 is the Wizard Express Family Murder Mystery Dinner Train for Harry Potter fans. Medieval cuisine includes turkey drumstick, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, punch, coffee and dessert. Adults are $61, youth 7 to 12 years are $32. Reservations are required.

•Oct. 10, 17 and 24 is Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Fright Night for adults over 18 only. The cost is $89.
