Conejo schools encourage joining PTA
As schools open in the Conejo Valley Unified SchooDistrict, parents, teachers and students will begin to feel the effects of the $26 million in cuts that have been made to the district’s budget. Even with the aid of millions of dollars from federal stimulus monies, class sizes have increased and programs have been cut from elementary schools to community and state colleges.
Conejo Council PTA urges all parents to join their local PTA this year. The schools need volunteer time now more than ever. PTAs throughout the Conejo Valley raise money that pays for specialists in music, art, computers, textbooks and programs that schools would not be able to have.
