Not a fan of Obama, but he’s not the Joke
I didn’t vote for President Obama and agree with free speech and the right to lawful assembly to protest.
I don’t agree with his health plan, new taxes, bailing out companies caught up in their own greed and so on.
Still, I believe as Americans we need to attack the issues, not the man or the office.
At the local demonstration the depicting of the president as the Joker from Batman wasn’t only in bad taste, but disrespectful to the highest office of our country.
The system definitely is broken and needs to be repaired. I’m just as angry and upset over past decisions that our president has made. I remember a saying, “The pen is mightier than the sword.” I don’t remember who coined that phrase, but it’s still true.
We need to stand together as Americans and write letters, protest what we don’t want or believe in, but remember to be respectful because other countries are watching our actions.
God has promised to bless our land and commands us to pray for those in authority.
This may seem hard to do, but it’s our only hope. Dorothy Campagna Newbury Park
