Charities present golf event at Lake Sherwood course

The Conejo Community Children’s Charities will present a golf tournament and wine tasting/auction fundraiser on Sat., Oct. 10 at the private Sherwood Lake Club in Thousand Oaks.

The event is open to nonmembers, and golfers will have full clubhouse access, including locker facilities.

Check-in is at 8:30 a.m. with a longest putt contest at 9 a.m. Golfers will depart for the tees at 9:45 a.m. The tournament will have a shotgun start at 10 a.m. on a Jack Nicklaus-designed course.

Starting at 5 p.m. at the Westlake Yacht Club will be silent and live auctions, a barbecue catered by Thousand Oaks Meat Locker, tasting of Santa Ynez wines, golf awards, music and dancing.

Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit charities of Pause4Kids, My Stuff Bags, Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship, Kiwanis Bring Up Grades Program for grade school children and Casa Pacifica.

The event is limited to 72 golfers. The fee for golfers is $275. Non-golfers may attend the tasting, auction and dinner for $50.
