The Miller Family YMCA will host a blood drive to assist a local teen with cancer from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tues., Sept. 29 at the Y, 320 Via Las Brisas, Newbury Park.

Andreas Knickman, a Newbury Park resident, was diagnosed with bone cancer on July 8 and underwent surgery to repair his leg and remove a nodule in his lung. He’s receiving chemotherapy at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

Donations at the YMCA blood drive will benefit Childrens Hospital.
