Traffic cops are appreciated in Thousand Oaks

I’ve lived on Arboles for 13 years now, and I’m glad to see the cop that Bob Meisterling seems to have an issue with (Sept. 3 Acorn letters, “Cops should have higher priorities than writing tickets”). Yes, I bought a house on a busy street and accept the fact that it’s noisier and somewhat more dangerous to live on, but the people that speed and disregard traffic laws make it even more so.

The cops are dealing with a crime problem when they enforce the traffic laws. Speeding is a crime; driving under the influence is a crime; hit and run is a crime, all of which I have personally witnessed on Arboles in the last 13 years.

Bob will have no trouble from traffic officers if he drives 35 mph, comes to a complete stop at all stop signs and gives the right of way to pedestrians on Arboles.

I’m glad to see that officer, and he’s welcome to hide behind my car any time. Chris Clark Thousand Oaks
