Too many letters full of negativism
I always look forward to my Thursday afternoons because I know I’ll spend a bit of it going over one of my favorite local publications, the Thousand Oaks Acorn . When it arrived on Sept. 3, I was in for a shock.
I had no idea I lived in a community of curmudgeons!
First, I read a letter from one man, bemoaning the fact a policeman (was name-calling really necessary?) has been ticketing motorists in my neighborhood.
Unlike Bob, who runs a “route,” I live in this area and have seen the injuries and damage these drivers who aren’t “really hurting anyone” leave behind.
People “don’t like cops”? Not me, Bob. My neighborhood is
afer because of the work they do.
Then my faith in my fellow man was really challenged.
Someone drops off their pet at the Agoura Animal Shelter, no documentation about the dog’s health, and requests that their dog be put to death.
Good for the people at the
helter for doing what they did, which was to make an independent evaluation of their own.
Who’s to say a senior citizen dog with medical issues is unadoptable, other than the previous owners in this case?
I adopted an 8-year-old mutt with mass cell tumors from the Agoura shelter, who, four years
ater, seems to be getting younger every day.
Please don’t get me started on
he people complaining about the coyotes.Tell me again: Who was here first? Maria Di Pisa Thousand Oaks
