Group will oppose Lang Ranch Park

This letter is in response to the Acorn ’s Sept. 3 article regarding the proposed Lang Ranch park in Thousand Oaks.

Save Our Ring of Green (SOROG) has sent a letter to both the Thousand Oaks City Council and the Conejo Recreation and Park District board of directors opposing the current plans for this property. The letter included an environmentally sensitive alternative plan, which calls for the property to be used as a regional park.

A regional park would focus on creating trails for the disabled, native plant restoration and interpretive signage depicting both the Native American and natural history of the area.

SOROG feels that this alternative would best protect and enhance the natural environment.

This organization will be soliciting support throughout the community in the coming months to create awareness of this issue. Clint Matkovich Thousand Oaks

Matkovich is the director of Save Our Ring of Green.
