Fire Department to expand safety seat installation program

The Ventura County Fire Department recently received a grant of $10,985 from CRC Insurance Services and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company to expand the department’s child safety seat installation program into the Thousand Oaks area. The program teaches parents how to properly install the seats in their vehicles and provides seats to families who could not otherwise afford them.

“In this economy, a grant like this is literally a lifesaver,” said Fire Prevention Officer Corina Cagley, who oversees the program. “By teaching parents how to properly install these seats, and by providing seats to parents who can’t afford them, we believe we’re helping save children’s lives. Thanks to this grant, we can now offer this program to parents in Thousand Oaks and the Conejo Valley.”
