Rick Ostrander and The American Academy of Self Defense will host a break-athon fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 18, at the academy, 3345 Kimber Drive, Ste. D, Newbury Park.

The event will benefit the Fire Family Foundation and is in memory of Capt. Ted Hall and Firefighter Specialist Arnie Quinones, the firefighters who died during the recent wildfires.

The event is open to students and nonstudents. Each participant is encouraged to seek pledges and will break five boards to raise money.
