La Leche League of Thousand Oaks will host the annual Silent Auction Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wed., Sept. 16 at Borchard Community Park, 250 N. Reino Road, Newbury Park. 

The event is open to the public and will feature a free lunch and children’s entertainment. All proceeds will benefit the local groups of La Leche League, an international nonprofit, nonsectarian volunteer organization that provides accurate and current breast-feeding information. 

Local groups have free monthly meetings to answer breastfeeding questions and provide support. The Thousand Oaks group meets at 10 a.m. the first Wednesday of each month at the Newbury Park Library. Experienced, new and pregnant mothers, along with babies and young children, are welcome to attend. No advance registration is necessary.
