Chamber to host school-to-career programs
The Thousand OaksWestlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce Networking Breakfast of Champions will be from 7 to 9 a.m. Fri., Sept. 11 at the Los Robles Greens Banquet Center, 299 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.
Registration and breakfast begin at 6:45 a.m., with an early bird drawing at 7 a.m.
The topic will be ways that business leaders can partner with local schools to help today’s students become tomorrow’s skilled work force.
This collaborative business and education event is presented by the Las Virgenes and Conejo Valley unified school districts, representatives of the SchooltoCareer and Regional Occupational programs, and the Chamber’s Education Committee.
The breakfast will include information on the program. Students and business representatives who have benefited from their involvement in the Schoolto-Career Program will speak.
The master of ceremonies will be Dave Burns of Cover 2 Cover Music.
The School-to-Career and Regional Occupational programs allow students to understand how their education is relevant to work and careers.
Prepaid reservations are due by 2 p.m. Wed., Sept. 9. Chamber members pay $18.50 and nonmembers pay $28.
Payment after the deadline and at the door is $27 for members and $30 for nonmembers.
