Kickoff event will promote nonprofit program for special needs children

The Conejo Valley Friendship Circle, a nonprofit organization that provides support programs for children with special needs and their families, will host a communitywide kickoff fair from noon to 2 p.m. Sun., Sept. 13 at Brandon’s Village, 25801 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Calabasas.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet the Friendship Circle staff and mingle with other children with special needs and their families. Music, games, refreshments and other family entertainment will be provided. Teen volunteers will be on hand to give special attention to the children.

Beginning its seventh year, the Friendship Circle will introduce a new program for young adults with special needs who are interested in an opportunity to make friends and socialize outside of the home in a safe and relaxing environment.

Teenagers interested in volunteering are encouraged to attend as well.
