After a twoweek investigation, two juveniles were arrested on Aug. 18 by Thousand Oaks detectives and charged with stealing valuables from unlocked parked vehicles, according to a police report.

One juvenile is from West Hills and the other from Thousand Oaks.

Both are 16 years old.

The crimes occurred in residential areas and apartment complexes during the day and at night. After the thefts, the juveniles would reportedly take credit cards they had stolen and use them at stores in the Conejo and San Fernando valleys.

The juveniles arrested were on probation for committing similar crimes. At the time of their arrests, they were allegedly in possession of numerous items of stolen property, including electronic equipment, credit cards and backpacks, taken from recent thefts in the Thousand Oaks area.

Both juveniles were arrested on multiple felony charges related to the recent crimes.

Thousand Oaks police remind residents to lock their vehicles and take valuables inside their homes to reduce the risk of theft.
