Find some swag at Gold Coast Pirate Faire in Ojai
The 19th annual Gold Coast Pirate Faire will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat. and Sun., Sept. 19, 20, 26 and 27 at Lake Casitas Recreation Area, Ojai.
The event is presented by the Visions in Time Foundation and will recreate a 15th to 17th century pirate village with the West Coast’s largest gathering of costumed pirate reenactors.
This year’s fair will benefit in part the Humane Society of Ventura County. Each attendee who brings a can of dog or cat food will receive $1 off the regular ticket price.
The event will have continuous entertainment on three stages, food court, children’s activities and costume contests, Pirates’ Tavern serving adult beverages, battle reenactments and demonstrations, and an outdoor market of handcrafted items including period clothing, armament, fine jewelry and pirate booty.
The fair is handicap accessible and will offer handicap parking.
Visitors may bring food and soft drinks but not alcoholic beverages. Dogs on a leash are allowed. Visitors are encouraged to come in a pirate period costume.
Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors age 62 and up, $8 for children age 4 to 11 and free for children under 4. Group rates are available. Tickets include all entertainment and Casitas Lake admission. Parking is $5.
