Wilkes Family Medicine has opened at 2904 Theresa Drive, Ste. 2, Newbury Park.

The clinic offers fullspectrum family care, including pediatrics, adult medicine, women’s health, geriatrics and training in sports medicine and some aspects of integrative medicine.

New patients are being accepted. Same or nextday appointments are often available.

Wilkes is a California native. He is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Wilkes has a bachelor’s degree in biology from UC Irvine and a medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine.

He was commissioned in the U.S. Navy after medical school and served seven years on active duty, including residency training in family medicine at the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton.

Wilkes served two combat tours in Iraq and was awarded the Navy Commendation medal with Combat Valor distinction. He also served as the senior medical officer at Port Hueneme Naval Clinic, responsible for the medical oversight of active duty members, their families and local retirees.
